Notices Of Additional Tax Assessment Raised By Director General Of Inland Revenue Received By UEM Land Berhad ("UEML") And Symphony Hills Sdn Bhd ("SHSB"), Both Of Which Are Wholly Owned Subsidiaries Of UEM Sunrise

Reference is made to the Company’s announcements dated 5 May 2021, 25 May 2021, 14 March 2023, 17 March 2023, 8 November 2023, 8 December 2023 and 19 December 2024 in relation to the Notices received by UEML and SHSB.

Unless otherwise stated, the definitions used herein shall have the same meanings as set out in the earlier announcements.

The Company wishes to announce that, further to the decision by the Court of Appeal which allowed UEML’s appeal against the High Court’s decision to dismiss UEML’s leave for a judicial review application against the Minister of Finance and the stay of the payments of the remaining additional taxes, penalty and interest on instalments, the Attorney General Chambers filed a Notice of Motion to Appeal to the Federal Court.

UEML will defend this matter vigorously and further announcements will be made as and when there are material developments on the matter.
