Notices Of Additional Tax Assessment Raised By Director General Inland Revenue Received By Uem Land Berhad ("UEML") And Symphony Hills Sdn Bhd ("SHSB"), Both Of Which Are Wholly Owned Subsidiaries Of UEM Sunrise

Reference is made to the Company’s announcements dated 5 May 2021, 25 May 2021, 14 March 2023, 17 March 2023, 8 November 2023 and 8 December 2023 in relation to the Notices received by UEML and SHSB. Unless otherwise stated, the definitions used herein shall have the same meanings as set out in the earlier announcements.

The Company wishes to announce that it has received the decision of the Court of Appeal on 19 December 2024, allowing UEML’s appeal against the High Court’s decision to dismiss UEML’s leave for a judicial review application against the Minister of Finance and the stay of the payments of the remaining additional taxes, penalty and interest on instalments.

Further announcements will be made as and when there are material developments on the matter.
